La Marinara in Montreal

Very nice place l, very good and affordable Italian food.

The food was delicious authentic. You can really taste the freshness of the ingredients in the pasta. The Chicken Marsala was cooked perfectly and my girlfriend loved her seafood pasta. It came with a delicious creamy sauce and pasta on the side. Looks fancy but we wore our casual attire. Easy to find, plenty of parking. We were really hungry and it was just the right amount of food after a long hot day of visiting Montreal and just snacking. Server was quick and on point. Wine was fantastic and ambiance was serene. Perfect way to end my sweethearts birthday 🎂

The place is nice. The lasagne is very tasty. Price is moderate expensive. But, I really didn't like the service. I ordered one starter Marinara pasta, served the main dish which is CAD$10 more. So, I end up paying extra, and that dish was not so tasty. After paying the bills, I just wanted to inform the food attended that we actually ordered the starter not the main dish. He responded, "Yes, you got larger portion, we served 8 shrimp, not 3". There were no apologies from his end. I really didn't expected this reply. Anyway, overall the service was good.

Great food and service.

A fine restaurant with great service and food to match. Wait staff very efficient & look after customers. Prix fixe dinner menu is well priced with good selections. Well worth a visit for Italian cuisine.

Great Italian home made cuisine and attentive service.

Absolutely horrible service. My girlfriend and I went out on date looking for a great Italian restaurant and came to this one. The place was fairly busy but we were turned away at the door. Clapped his hands together* "sorry but we are full today, have a great night guys" and walked away. Not coming here again.

Delicious Italian food

I love this place for its authentic Italian pasta. Nothing fancy but all you need for a delicious meal. The service is excellent.

Absolutely perfect! All plates we ordered were consistently amazing. So so tasty, perfectly cooked, just the flavors I was hoping to find. I am so happy to have found this place. I will for sure return to this place to try more plates.EDIT: true to my word, we went back and once again it was perfection. Imagine the perfect taste of pasta you're looking for and now go there and get it!!! We also had caramel pudding and the chocolate mousse, both great.ALSO, THEY SELL THEIR SAUCES. What a discovery, game changer.

Small, cozy, great italian. It is a hidden jewel. Make reservations, it is necessary. Parking on the street a little difficult but possible. Not too expensive. We enjoyed it.

Excellent Italian food, Fettuccine is awesome

Food was quite good but service was lacklustre.Waiter didn’t mention any specials until I asked.I would have ordered a second glass of wine but it was never offered. I looked up the dessert menu on their website on my phone since the waiter didn’t tell us what options there were. My husband ordered coffee but it never came. They didn’t seem to care about our presence at all. Unfortunate as it was a special occasion for us.

Seriously overpriced cannolis. Horrible service for the short time I was there

We reserved a table today and waited for more than 10 minutes , the waiters were disrespectful and they didn’t even prepare our table. We tried talking to them and asking them to kindly prepare it because we can see the empty tables in front of us but they didn’t show any interest. Very disappointed very, we had a very bad experience. We left after 13 minutes and they didn’t even apologize, we thanked them for their disrespect and left.

Very cute family style restaurant. Went for Valentine's day and the food was delicious, the wine was good. The service was good, very friendly staff.

We visited Cafe Bistro today at lunch time. We ordered their zucchini appetizer and Cesar Salad. Both dishes were absolutely delicious! The zucchini was crisp, lightly floured and seasoned well. Served with a slightly spicy tomato marinara sauce to compliment it with. The Cesar salad was also superior, fresh, crisp and with the dressing full of flavour. The service great and attentive. The restaurant was quaint and busy. Very enjoyable, would not hesitate to return and recommend to others.

Very busy place probably means good. But the service wasn't. People who came after us were seated before us so we left.

When you go to Montreal and want to have an amazing dish for reasonable money and you feel at home, Cafe Bistro La Marinara is the place you go. This place is run by very genuine people that are passionate about running a great restaurant, head chef in the kitchen and the host on the service side of things. They build relationship with their client and remember their regulars even if they moved far away and occasionally visit. I had a chance to try dishes that were in experimental phase and discussed my feedback with the head chef. Thank you both and I hope to come back soon.

Plates are not big, but food is great!

Authentic Italian meal with a great wine list as well.

The food is fairly good(the aglio olio that I ordered was excellent in every perspective)The price is fairly expensive.Pretty popular place, always crowded.

We had checked for good Italian food in Montréal and this place was suggested. Tge reviews looked good so we gave it a try. Unfortunately, we didn't get what we expected. The service was good, we were seated quickly and the food was brought over fast, but the quality just wasn't there. It's clear they don't make their pastas in-house and we left hungry. They did seem to have a lot of older, regular customers come in, I'm wondering if that's family and friends as the food is definitely not what's bringing them back.

This place was a great find with homemade pasta and some very good veal! The menu is pretty large and everything we tried was delicious. The veal parm was especially tender and tasty as well as the Caesar salad which is made with an oil based dressing for a nice change! The staff were great and very friendly and professional.
